Bossard began working at the vessel F/V Sunset a 65' halibut-schooner which was converted into a tender for salmon in the name of Murat Aritan, who worked in commercial fishing since 1993. Bossard and Aritan are married now and have come together to claim their place in their respective industries. Both are advocates of conserving as well as profiting from renewable resources in the fishing industry. Otolith is an independent wholesale distributor of seafood which was founded by a woman in Philadelphia in 2007, by a woman who is now the mother of two kids, Bella aged 3, and Andre age 1. She and her husband are separated by 5 months and she is able to concentrate on her finances as well as the environment. In July 2016, Bossard as well as her daughters Isabella aged 12 and son Andre aged 10 returned to Southeast Alaska annually each summer to work as deckhands throughout the summer wild salmon harvest.
